WORKS BELL RAPFIX GTC-R
Manufacturer: WORKS BELL
Product name: RAPFIX GTC-R
Background
Developed for racing where driver changes take place. In races with frequent driver changes, simply flipping the steering wheel up (tilting) is quicker and more precise than removing it entirely with a quick release. To meet that need, we took the RAPFIX GTC already offered in a street-legal form and reworked it as a competition-only part.
Features
Pulling the large lever – newly designed specifically for competition use – tilts the socket (steering wheel side) up away from the plug (vehicle side). It has a suspend function that holds the wheel at any chosen angle, and a hold function that means you do not need to operate the lever again to tilt back down.
To tilt down, simply push the steering wheel back: precision bearing-grade steel balls engage the two detents machined into the plug and the tapered holes in the socket, and the coil spring loading the sleeve arm pulls everything into full engagement.
Using the Ball Lock System established across the RAPFIX range, it delivers smooth hinge action and lock-up with no deflection. Play and wear issues are eliminated, which makes a real difference to precise steering inputs at the limit.
