Pure water with a specific heat approximately five times that of the coolant is used.
It has the characteristic of drawing away a lot of heat while causing a gradual rise in water temperature.

This is a high-performance coolant designed specifically for use in motorsports.
PG55TA's main component is highly filtered pure water, with a proprietary additive added to enhance performance. It contains absolutely no ethylene glycol or propylene glycol, which are the main components of typical coolants.
Specific heat is the amount of heat required to raise the temperature of a substance by 1 degree Celsius per gram.
The higher the specific heat value, the more heat is required. A typical ethylene glycol aqueous solution (45%) coolant has a specific heat of 3.31. In contrast, pure water has a specific heat of 4.205. Pure water, the base of PG55TA, has a significantly higher specific heat than many other substances, and is highly effective in suppressing water temperature rise and also has a high heat absorption effect, making PG55TA a pure water-based coolant suitable for cooling performance.
In other words, even if the water temperature is the same, the amount of heat absorbed to raise the temperature to that level will differ significantly between ordinary coolant and pure water. As you can see from this, PG55TA is a coolant that efficiently absorbs the large amount of heat generated by high-power engines while also preventing the water temperature from rising too high.
