Core volume has been increased and the fin pitch optimised, cutting pressure loss while maintaining cooling performance. That reduces the load on the turbochargers and improves boost response. The side tanks are also designed with minimal change in cross-sectional area so that intake air flows evenly across the full face of the core.

75 mm core (BNR32)
The slimmer core allows the intercooler to be fitted to a BNR32 with no modification to the front bumper.

100 mm core (BCNR33 / BNR34)
The intercooler is mounted as close to vertical as possible, which also improves radiator cooling performance.
