Blow-by gases from the combustion chamber are returned to the intake stroke mixed with engine oil. In a normal setup, this can cause problems such as oil accumulating in the intercooler or oil contamination of the intake system, including the airflow meter, due to blowback. The NISMO oil separator separates oil from the blow-by gases returned to the intake stroke from the cylinder head, preventing contamination of the airflow meter and other components, while also reducing oil accumulation in the intercooler. At the same time, the oil separated within the oil separator is returned to the oil pan, thus reducing engine oil consumption. The blow-by gases are returned to the engine and not released into the atmosphere.
