The brief for the SUPER COPPERMIX TWIN was to build the strongest clutch NISMO could make — one rated for over 600 ps that is still easy to drive. NISMO spent two years developing a carbon twin-plate, but confirmed that the low-friction characteristics of carbon facing material could not beat Coppermix. A further year and a half went into developing a twin-plate using Coppermix facing material instead. After three and a half years of development, the SUPER COPPERMIX TWIN became the final model in the NISMO multi-plate clutch series.
