The stock pedal ratio has leverage limitations, restricting the usable master cylinder to 3/4 inch or smaller. The improved motorsport-spec pedal ratio enhances mechanical advantage through greater leverage. This means you can use a larger 1-inch master cylinder, which displaces more fluid per 1mm of piston stroke. This results in improved brake feel and increased braking force to the calipers, with the same or even less pedal effort. As a result, you can reduce foot fatigue and increase braking force while keeping pedal travel almost the same.

What are the advantages of manual brakes?

A proper manual brake system (pedal ratio matched to master cylinder bore size, appropriate pad compounds, and front/rear brake balance adjustment) provides the exact same braking force every time. The true value of manual brakes comes from adjusting the maximum braking force just before lock-up. We call this the "90-99% zone." With power brakes, it's impossible to precisely determine the foot pressure needed for exact braking force. Especially with boost functions, braking consistency significantly decreases. Even if your friend has done X or Y on the track, it's just personal anecdote. Information from motorsport data is not wrong. Indeed, the 90-99% braking force zone requires a little more foot pressure than power brakes, but that's why power brakes are superior. This is a huge advantage because you can find the optimal foot pressure every time. Manual brakes are very beneficial because they allow you to find the optimal foot pressure every time. Power brakes are inconsistent, too sensitive, or too soft (especially with boost). In a lap where you're entering a braking zone at over 160 km/h, braking feel must be consistent to shave off lap times. Everyone has experienced vacuum-assisted brakes where the braking force from one pedal press is completely different from the next. This is fine for the average driver who wants to drive with as little effort as possible, with little attention in the city.
